Good morning blog friends, and welcome to post number 400 on the Kampblog!!! Not only is this an exciting post because of the post number, but it’s also the first post regarding my flight training.
Below is a picture from a very cool experience earlier this week! A couple good friends of ours fly for an airline here in the city, and brought us in to try out their uber cool, uber expensive flight simulator!! That’s my “oh man I’m so freakin’ excited, I’m flying a real freakin’ flight simulator” face lol.

As some people have seen on facebook, twitter, or by just talking to me, I’m in the process of just starting my flight training up in St. Andrews with Harv’s Air. I’ve loved airplanes and flying since for as long as I can remember… believe me my family can testify to that fact. In fact pretty much all of the sheets I filled out as a child regarding a future career aspirations were flying and being a pilot… well being a ninja might have slipped in a few times.
Getting my pilots license has been something that I talk about about every year, but never do. Over the past couple months in our slower season, it occurred to me that at the rate I was going, it would probably be something that I never finished, something I always plan to do, but put off because of procrastination, or I’m not even sure quite why…
Today is my first official flight lesson. The first day towards accomplishing something that has been in my mind for as many years as I can remember. I’ve been up since 7am today finishing up some required reading, I’ve been listening to a live tower feed of CYAV (St Andrews Airport) and nothing can really explain that extremely excited but nervous feeling. I’m going to try to take some pictures during each lesson (nothing to fancy, just our point and shoot) and will be posting those and just some “this is what happened” as my training continues! I can’t believe the day is here =)
See you all in the wild blue yonder ;-)
