Hey there friends =) Sorry for not posting yesterday, when we woke up and it was pouring rain, we decided it was an awesome excuse to take a day off to hang out at home.
This past Saturday we joined Jady + Dastin for their wedding. The day kicked off bright and early, 8am for us, and when we arrived everyone was already dressed and ready to go! We asked what time most people got out of bed, and 4am was the general consensus. The reason for getting up so early was their awesome jammed packed day. The day began with some “groom games” with Dastin and all his groomsmen basically attempting to gain access to the house. It was awesome and made for a great start to the day, with lots of laughs, thats all we can say =)
Following the games it was time for two tea ceremonies, one with Jady’s family and one with Dastin’s. We must say we are becoming quite found of these traditions. Its pretty incredible how much respect there is for the elders in Asian weddings, we feel incredibly honored to actually be able to watch and photograph them. Coming from an entirely different background, and set of traditions, being witness to different traditions and cultures definitely is one of the coolest parts of our job!!
Following the tea ceremonies we hit the road for Assiniboine Park for the ceremony, and family photos. Following the ceremony it was off to the Legislature for photos with the wedding party. Jady and Dastin then jumped in with us, and we hit the road for the couple session. We had a little interruption durning the couple session, but we’ll have a post about that hopefully in the next week or so, we are just waiting for their videographer to send us some footage =)
Jady and Dastin had an INCREDIBLY beautiful reception at the Marlborough Hotel, including a beautiful cake from the High Tea Bakery. Now without further ado, on to the photos =)
