Yesterday myself, Jess, and Curtis hit the road up north of Selkirk to check out the ice flows and shoot some photos / video. We drove straight north, up this dirt road the ended right in front of the river. At this point the ice is level with the road, and you feel just devastated for these folks with homes, and cabins along the river… you can just feel the water creeping up on you.
On our way back south we ran into two brothers at the Selkirk airport prepping a vintage aircraft from 1944. 2009 is the centennial year of powered flight in Canada, so these two guys are doing a cross country trip from the east coast to the west coast through the arctic, pretty darn cool! After our stop at the airport, we headed back into the city to meet with Nghia at the Forks to grab some more photos and video, then head out for dinner =)
We’re going to try really hard to continue documenting the ice, and the flood as it progresses over the next little while, so stay tuned for more.

Yesterday myself, Jess, and Nghia hit the road up to Lockport to check out some of the ice, and flooding. We had quite the trip and got some cool video to go along with the photos we’ll post later. Make sure you watch the entire video, it has a fun little ending, which led to me having very, very cold toes =)

Hey there friends! Tomorrow night (March 28th) is Earth Hour! So here is your chance to do your part to save this awesome place we call home. From 8:30pm - 9:30pm shut off those lights, turn off the TV, computer, unplug any chargers that aren’t being used, and light some candles to do your part for the Earth!
The Kamper’s Suggestions For The Hour -
-Talk with those around you with no distractions
-Read a book by candle light
-Pick up that dusty guitar from the corner of the room (if you have one) and have an hour long jam session
-Write a list of goals for the rest of the year
-Meditate
-Have a candle lit bath
-Go for a walk
-Be thankful for this place you call home, and commit to doing this more then once a year =)

Yesterday we were back to the rink. Once again we got to hang with the crew of the Ace Burpee Show and got to shoot the girls hockey team from Westwood in game one of the finals against Garden City. It was an awesome game, lots of heart from both sides, but Westwood was defeated 4-1.
HOT103 is live on location again tonight, so if you want to check out some awesome hockey, and have the chance to win a trip to Disney Land, or have the chance to win some tickets to the Beyonce concert, definitely come on down to the Keith Bodley arena! The puck drops at 6:15pm.
