A note from Jess

To my Mom, my angel now, I’ll miss you more in my life to come, as I do today. I will remember you.

My thoughts will go to my memory of you when I struggle with life’s decisions. All those little questions, what temperature to cook a casserole or what to wear for an occasion, that could be answered in a quick phone call to you, are simple in comparison to the many situations I’ll encounter in the future when I’ll miss you most. I pray that you will be with me to guide me through. I hope that I can raise my own babies up with the same joy, happiness, safety and opportunity that you allowed for us.

With all your heart, mind and body you fought selflessly, to be here, with me, my brothers and our families, and Dad, and we are all grateful. You would be here in flesh if you could, but you will always live on in our memories. Thank you for all you have done, for all you have sacrificed and for all you will continue to give in the lessons you have taught me. I love you and I will remember you.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thanks all those that have helped though these difficult times. Particularly I’d like to thank the many community members of Elie and friends of my Mom’s who have stepped up to help in many different ways, bringing food, sending prayers or just lending an ear to listen. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and my family is grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community of people.

Thank you also to Nghia Tran and Curtis Moore, fellow Rocktographers, who’ve helped to take my place and cover some weddings for Jake and I. The pictures are gorgeous, but we were confident from the start that your skill and personalities would do us proud. You are truly talented, and wonderful individuals and we are incredibly grateful to be your friends. I’d like to thank Coralee too, who would have made it if she could but had weddings and obligations of her own, thank you for your understanding shoulder and kind hugs.

To our clients, thank you dearly for being the most incredible people…On most days, but especially during these hard times, Jake and I can hardly understand how we could be so fortunate to have somehow attracted the most amazing, unique and compassionate couples available. We are already fortunate with our jobs and to join you on such special days, however, mostly we are thankful for the friendships we have developed with many of you. Thank you for all your understanding.

To my husband, you have truly been a gift more precious than can imagine… I love you and thank you for all that you do for me. I know that we will continue in life reflecting the beautiful relationships and partnerships our parents share with each other.

Approximately 75 percent of ovarian cancer cases are only diagnosed at advanced stages after the cancer has already spread beyond the ovary. Currently, no early and accurate testing is available to properly screen for ovarian cancer. The five-year survival rate for women with this type of cancer hasn’t significantly increased in the past 30 years—a mere 8 percent. My Mom was only 52 years old when she slipped away from us on Sunday, December 21. She was only diagnosed last June/July when actual physical symptoms became apparent. She was taken too quickly.

Research needs to done. PLEASE HELP and make a donation (however small) to the National Ovarian Cancer Association in my mother’s name (Sharon Joyce Dufresne). Leave a comment that you have done so and we’ll make sure to thank you, your studio or your business for the support.

End of Year Message :: Kiera + Carey :: Photos Have A New BFF

Hey there friends quite a few things in todays final 2008 post. We gave some photo awesomeness from yesterday’s wedding, a super cool announcement for 2009, as well as just a little Kamper update.

Firstly the Kamper Update – As some of you know one of our family members has been incredibly ill, because of this we have been away from the office for the last little while. It has been a very tough time as of late, so we apologize for slow responses, or if things have been slightly delayed. Being your own bosses is difficult because of course we very much need to keep our clients happy, but at a time like this family has been much more important. You may have noticed we haven’t completed the cans for comments, and that the 12 days of Kamp Store awesomenss have disappeared, but we wanted you to all know why, without going into to much detail. The cans for comments, will be donated as planned early in the near year, and we will also be having some rockin’ new year deals as well.

Also in terms of holiday schedule, we will be away from the office until early 2009 (we also have three weddings between now and then) so we will do our best to get back to everyone as quickly as possible.

Kiera + Carey :: Awesome Wedding Time! – Yesterday was the beautiful winter wedding of Kiera and Carey. The couple had their photo session at the Millennium Center, followed by the ceremony and reception at Bridges Golf Course. Kiera looked absolutely INCREDIBLE in her wedding dress, and of course Carey looked pretty good as well =) The ceremony was light by candles, and an awesome turkey dinner followed. As a surprise to the couple, there was also a beautiful fireworks display (by Archangel) after dinner. Thank you so much for having us guys, you are incredible, beautiful people (inside and out,) and we wish you nothing but the best in the future!!

Photos Have A New Best Friend! - What would happen if a photographer could combine beautiful HD Video and beautiful photographs at the same time? Something we have nicknamed “Phot-e-o” or Photo Video mashed together. As technology has progressed new cameras have made it possible to shoot incredible photos and HD video at the same time! This is something we are really excited about, it makes for an awesome feeling from the day, that flows and just plain ROCKS! This is also something we want to do for clients for pure enjoyment, not as something else you have to pay for. So check out the little one minute teaser video below =)

So as we sign off from the blog until the new year, we want to thank each and everyone of you that visit the blog. We love posting, and we love that you come to visit, and see what we are up to! To our past, current, and future clients, we truly appreciate every single one of you!! You make us want to come to work everyday, to progress our art, and to really push ourselves to do awesome things! We hope you all have an excelled holiday season, and we look forward to an even more incredible 2009!!!!!!
