About a month and half ago we received an email from an organization called “The Best of Wedding Photography” inviting us to join them. The coolest part of this though, is that it is all invite only, and they are only accepting the top 500 photographers from around the world. As we investigated further, we found out as well, that you have to be nominated by someone, and then your work is judged by a governing board of photographers. We had no idea any of this was happening at all until we received the email inviting us to join!! Whoever nominated us, thank you thank you thank you =) we’re absolutely honored to be part of a group of such awesome photographers!!

Here is an excerpt from The Best of Wedding Photography website about membership -

“We are the premier invitation-only association for the world’s top wedding photographers. Best of Wedding Photography employs a unique system of peer-review to ensure that membership standards remain uncommonly high. We look for photographers who are leaders in the field – both in terms of the quality and style of imagery they produce and their level of success and recognition by brides, fellow photographers, and others in the wedding industry.”

We are sooooo excited =)

Mmmmmmm Cake

Well here it is. Months of preparation and planning with two of our most awesome friends in the world, Michelle (Michelle Zerr Photography,) and Melissa (Sugar and Soul Photography), and supported by four absolutely awesome ladies.

The idea came from…. actually were not even sure where it came from, other then the idea of shooting photos with best friends, of something we adore…. cake, and each other. We got together with Pam from Cakeology, and Allana from F2 Styling and Events, and put together a shoot of epic proportions. Pam from Cakeology put together cakes for us to match our branding, and Allana helped us piece the shoot all together with some style. We had help with hair from one of our awesome brides Terri from Urban Glow, and makeup done by Meagan.

You’ll see in the photos that the shoot was more then just about pretty cakes, and photos of each other. During the planning process we decided that the shoot needed something a little fun, and a little crazy…. oh you’ll see =) To see all of the photos below, just click the large photo and you can scroll through all of them =) Also be sure to watch the video for some super awesome fun!!

Had to post this :: When it starts to rain… simply turn and RUUUUUNNNNNN!

Going through Terri and Dan’s photos this morning I came across an awesome sequence. Anyone local knows how crazy the weather was this past weekend, and will totally understand. We were lucky enough to get a small break in the weather Saturday afternoon which allowed us to head outside for our photo session, well this is how it ended. We were all shooting and having an awesome time, then the sky fell, and we all without saying a word running to the limo. Here is how it all went down, keep in mind a lot of these shots were taken while running, and maybe slightly blurry….

The rain starts to fall, we all start running for the limo. Notice the streak of rain, these drops were HUGE!

Jake starts to break left, trying to (a) get out of the rain, but (b) still shoot what was happening.

…….gets you a super awesome, upstaged, unscripted, moment that will never happen again =) Personally, I’m still trying to figure out how Terri ran in those shoes lol
