Poland =) A Quick Update

So we have made it safe and sound to Poland for an awesome wedding with Eimer and Tom, who are both from England. We have had a blast so far getting to know Krakow, taking some time at the square in the middle of town, and basically getting to know the area.

On our second day in town we met a great couple from the Vancouver area, James and Eva… its was super awesome meeting another Canadian couple that we could hang out with. We had a great night with them Tuesday jumping from patio to patio, then met up with them again Wednesday evening for a quick impromptu photo session.

Wednesday we also hit the road to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau. This was an experience we will never forget. Its extremely hard to explain what it feels like to be there, and imagine what it was like 60 years ago. It is such an incredibly haunting place, and definitely one of the most humbling experiences we will ever have. Have you ever been to Auschwitz or anywhere that has completely touched your life? We can definitely say we will never be the same.

This morning we finally had a chance to meet with Eimer and Tom who arrived in Krakow yesterday to chat about their wedding on Saturday. We are so excited about the wedding, not only are they incredible wonderful people, the venues they have chosen in Krakow are INCREDIBLE!!

A little bit of photo reportage :: Elgin Ave. House Fire

Last night like many Sunday nights we were hanging out watching some television when suddenly we could smell smoke… not a normal thing really. We headed out to our patio to see a huge plume of smoke rising above the building next to ours, so we quickly grabbed a camera and headed over to Elgin Ave. to see what was going on. When we arrived there was an abandoned home completely engulfed in flames. As some people know I used to work at Global Television, and happened to be wearing my old Global jacket so the police had no problem with me being “across the line” (a fence) where everyone else was. It was a really strong fire, and we couldn’t believe how fast the house burnt. Below are some of the photos from the fire, one of which, has been posted on the CBC Manitoba website.

On the road again =)

A little of this, a little of that… And holy cow its 2010 already?!?

Oh man its already the 7th of January!!! When did that happen?!?! I guess we got a little caught up in the bnice relaxing nature of the holiday season, and slept through the last week lol =) The holiday season here in Kampland was absolutely awesome!! Lots of just hanging out with family, and friends, and truly enjoying the company of the people we love =)

We’ve been pretty lax as of late with the blog posts, but have some cool stuff to post… most of which will be between now and Sunday. The conclusion of the BC road trip video, some shots from the holidays, some beautiful wedding photos from our one December wedding, some family photos from the woods near Kenora, and a recap of 2009!

As we’ve moved into 2010, we’re getting more and more excited about this year! We’ve got a pile of destination weddings around the world, I’m (Jake) finally going to fulfilling one of my life long dreams of getting my pilot license which will be posted about regularly, and were super excited to work with all of our wonderful 2010 couples as well =)

But that is enough babbling for now, in the mean time we were interviewed by The Wedding Co. about engagement sessions =) And just for laughs here is a shot of me while shooting in the woods near Kenora… its me realizing how stuck our car is at the bottom of a hill… but more on that later lol

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there friends =) We just wanted to dedicate a post to all of our awesome clients, blog visitors, and family. We wanted to thank you for all your love and support over the past year, and for letting us be part of your lives! We wanted to thank you all for everything, and wish you nothing but an awesome holiday season with your friends and family =) We are absolutely beyond excited for 2010, and can’t wait for it to get rolling, its going to be an absolutely awesome year!!!
